Just Returned from Artistic Alchemy Retreat 2019

Artistic Alchemy Retreat is held each year at Zephyr Point Conference Grounds on the shore of Lake Tahoe, Nevada, by four outstanding fiber artists: Mary Boalt, Jane Haworth, Sandra Bruce, and my good friend Heidi Emmett. Be sure to look them up on the ‘net!
My projects included an original quilt design — still in progress — from which I took a break to be sure to have time to make a “Simply Super Vest” by Heidi Emmett. (You can find her book with patterns Fashion Quilted Accessories at Bluprint.com.) You’ll see it in the photos below, it has a bear on the back and a moose on the front! Love it! And it’s an easy pattern to follow–just use your imagination for the fabrics and theme you want to use.
My Original quilt design “Other Side of the Coin” is still square in the photo but has outer borders added and will soon be quilted, cut into a 48″ round, and bound. The pattern will be available later this month. The orange appliqué below is also an original “California Poppy” in the Hawaiian Style of quilting and should also be available later this month.
My new patterns will be available for the first time at the Quilt and Fiber Arts Festival sponsored by River City Quilters Guild this month at McClellan Park, near Sacramento.
